Bayern Connect GmbH (Ltd.) is the operator and administrator of the .BAYERN TLD. Together with our technology partner Minds + Machines we provide the infrastructure for .BAYERN. Our standards for stability and security are among the strictest in the industry, in order to ensure the quality and user experience that people expect from an online presence associated with Bavaria.

The implementation of .BAYERN is endorsed by the Bavarian regional government.

 

Prince Leopold of Bavaria has been patron of the .BAYERN project since 2009. A great concern of his is the upholding of Bavarian tradition in a contemporary fashion.

Caspar von Veltheim, born 1980, studied production at the film academy (Film- und Fernsehakademie) in Berlin. He had previously studied in London, graduating with a Bachelor in business management. In 2009, Veltheim established the Bayern Connect GmbH, and now serves as managing director.

Veltheim began his career in NBC Universal Global Networks` sales department in 2006, where he was primarily responsible for customer acquisitions.

As managing director of Netbrands Media & Consultancy, he concentrated on

marketing international web portals, with a focus on online customer acquisitions and marketing strategies. Caspar was heavily involved in the marketing of Perlentaucher - a german web portal with a cultural focus - and the market launch of Fantasticzero, with more than five million unique users and over 78 million page impressions. Further customers included Fortis watches, Nokia and Disney.

Caspar von Veltheim has taken a keen interest in top level domains since 2007.

 

 

Thomas Rickert is an attorney-at-law in Germany. He is managing partner of Schollmeyer & Rickert Rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft mbH, a law firm with offices in Bonn and Frankfurt am Main. Thomas has extensive experience in the domain industry working on domain disputes as well as advising Registrars, Registry Service Providers and new gTLD applicants both on contractual as well as policy matters. Thomas is an expert speaker on domain related subjects both at the national at international level. Thomas has been appointed by ICANN's Nominating Committee to serve on the Council of the Generic Names Supporting Organisation (GNSO), which is the body responsible for managing policy development for generic domain names.
